Those running virtual or cloud images should not need this newer hardware enablement stack and thus it is recommended they remain on the original Trusty stack. This newer hardware enablement stack will be comprised of the kernel and X stack from the Vivid 15.04 release. In an effort to support a wider variety of hardware on an existing LTS release, the 14.04.3 point release will ship with an updated kernel and X stack by default. Please test and report any bugs you find: Please see the Trusty blueprint list for details. Please ensure you have network connectivity to one of the official mirrors or to a locally accessible mirror and follow the instructions above. Offline upgrade options via alternate CDs are no longer offered for Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Server. Note that the server upgrade will use GNU screen and automatically re-attach in case of dropped connection problems. Launch the upgrade tool with the command sudo do-release-upgrade.
